Ninja Slushi Jack Frost Recipe – Blue Tropical Frozen Drink

Hot weather can be tough. When the sun beats down and the heat makes you want to hide inside, you need something cold and enjoyable.

That’s when I think about my favorite frozen drink – the Ninja Slushi Jack Frost Recipe. This blue beauty is not just pretty to look at. It’s cold, sweet, and perfect for cooling down.

Last August, my neighbor Emma came over during a really hot day. She looked tired from working in her garden. The heat was making everyone feel slow and sticky.

I made her this Jack Frost drink in my Ninja Slushi machine. Her face lit up when she saw that bright blue color. After one sip, she said it was like drinking a piece of winter. That’s what this drink does – it brings you instant relief from the heat.

The Ninja Slushi machine makes it so easy to create this restaurant-style frozen treat at home. You just add your ingredients and let the machine do all the work.

What Does It Taste Like?

The Ninja Slushi Jack Frost Recipe tastes like a mix of sweet coconut, tropical pineapple, and a touch of citrus.

The smooth cream of coconut makes it rich and velvety, while the pineapple juice balances everything with a light, tangy note.

The splash of blue curaçao brings a hint of orange flavor that blends perfectly with the coconut rum.

It manages to feel refreshing while still having a smooth, creamy texture. It’s not too heavy and not too sharp.

Each sip feels icy, tropical, and perfectly balanced. The bright blue color also adds to the magic – it feels like a treat made for sharing at parties or sipping slowly on a sunny day.

Jack Frost Slushi Ingredients

  • Coconut Rum (2 ounces): This is what gives our slushie a nice, warm kick. It has a sweet, tropical coconut flavor that is the main taste of the drink. If you don’t want to use alcohol, see my tips in the next section.
  • Blue Curaçao (1 ounce): This is a bright blue, orange-flavored liqueur. It is what gives our Jack Frost slushie its amazing blue color and a little bit of a sweet, citrusy taste.
  • Cream of Coconut (2 ounces): This is not the same as coconut milk. Cream of coconut is very sweet and thick. It comes in a can, and you usually find it in the drink mixer aisle at the store. It makes our slushie creamy and gives it a strong coconut flavor.
  • Pineapple Juice (4 ounces): This adds a tangy, sweet fruit flavor that goes perfectly with the coconut. It also helps to thin out the cream of coconut so everything mixes together smoothly.

How To Make Ninja Slushi Jack Frost at Home

Step 1 | Get Your Machine Ready

Make sure all parts are clean and set the machine on a flat surface. Install the auger, vessel, and drip tray according to instructions.

Step 2 | Add Your Ingredients

Open the lid on top of the machine. Now, simply pour in the coconut rum, blue curaçao, cream of coconut, and pineapple juice.

There’s no specific order just pour them all in! Close the lid tightly.

Step 3 | Choose the Setting

Press the power button to turn the machine on. Since our drink has alcohol in it, press the “SPIKED SLUSH” button.

This setting is made for drinks with alcohol and will freeze it to the perfect temperature.

Step 4 | Let It Work

Now, just be patient! The machine will start to freeze and mix your drink. The lights on the front will flash while it works.

It can take anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes to get perfectly slushy. The machine will beep when it’s done!

Step 5 | Serve and Enjoy

Once it’s ready, grab a glass. Place it on the drip tray under the dispenser handle. Slowly pull the handle towards you to fill your glass.

Let go of the handle to stop. Put a straw in it, and enjoy your homemade Ninja Slushi Jack Frost.

Drinks Perfection Tips

  • Chill Your Ingredients: For an even faster freeze, put your juices and alcohol in the refrigerator for an hour before you start.
  • Cream of Coconut Tip: Before you open the can, shake it very well. This mixes the solid and liquid parts together for a smoother drink.
  • Sweetness Level: If you like your drinks a little less sweet, you can use one ounce less of cream of coconut.
  • Pre-Scrape the Sides: If the slushie is done but seems a little soft, unplug the machine. Use a spatula to scrape the sides of the vessel. Then, press the “MIX” button for one cycle. This makes it extra fluffy.

How to Serve This Jack Frost Slushi

This slushie is best served the moment it is made. The texture is perfect right out of the machine.

I love using a clear glass or a mason jar to show off that beautiful blue color. A colorful straw is a must.

For a special touch, you can rub a little pineapple juice on the rim of the glass and dip it in shredded coconut.

You can also add a small slice of pineapple or an orange wedge on the side.

It is the perfect drink for a pool party, a barbecue, or just relaxing on a sunny afternoon.

Storage & Shelf Life

This Ninja Slushi Jack Frost is meant to be enjoyed immediately.

If you have any leftover slushie in the machine, you can keep it in there on the “Keep Cold” setting for up to an hour.

Ninja Slushi Jack Frost Recipe FAQs

1. My slushie is too watery. What did I do wrong?

A watery slushie usually means it didn’t freeze long enough. The machine might have been interrupted.

Make sure you always use the “Spiked Slush” button for recipes with alcohol. Also, check that the lid is on completely tight.

A loose lid can let warm air in, which stops the mixture from freezing properly.

2. Why is my slushie too hard?

If your slushie is too hard or icy, the ingredients might have been too cold when they started. Or, the machine might be in a very cold room.

Let the slushie sit for two minutes. Then, use a spoon to stir and break it up. It will become the perfect texture.

3. Why is my slush not blue enough?

The blue color in the Ninja Slushi Jack Frost Recipe comes from blue curaçao.

If it’s pale, add more – start with an extra half ounce next time. Food coloring boosts it if needed, but use gel for better mix.

Ensure thorough blending; uneven pours cause streaks. Chilled ingredients help color set during freeze. Test a small batch to adjust. This keeps the vibrant look that makes it fun.
